Practice 1 & 2

Dylan has 28 teammates on his team.  Dylan was listed at Quarterback on the roster, and was not even tried there.  He just rolled with it and practiced a little at fullback, and then later told the coaches that he would like to play at inside linebacker.  Once he was into ILB he was not ever rotated or moved from there.  He made a lot of solid tackles, forced fumble, QB  sack from there.  Linebacker is definitely his natural position, because he likes to fly around the field and get the tackle.  Dylan loves getting that playing time, and once again found a way to get into a starting position.  He doesn't care where he plays, but this time he got lucky and gets to play where he loves to play.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for him.  Practice at 8-10am, and 12-2pm.  Then a Tournament team at 1:30pm (the field is close for this game so he will just get over there after OD practice).  Then OD Bowl game at 9pm at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Dylan was not too impressed with his Montana Eagle team.  They hardly gave him a chance, and treated him like a blocking dummy.  He doesn't care much about what happens on that team (playing time), and has set his priority to shining in the ALL-AMERICAN BOWL.

I will be keeping track of his tackles on defense, taking lots of pictures, and lots of video.  I will post more tomorrow.

Dylan will also participate in the Offense-Defense Youth National Tournament that is held during the same week of the Youth All-American Bowl.  Dylan was invited to be on a team out of Bozeman that has kids on it from across the state of Montana.  Dylan is a versatile player and will fill in at any position that he is needed; he knows how to play every position on the field.  He loves the game of football, and is looking forward to this experience so he can get better at a sport that he truly loves.

Dylan Allen Offense-Defense Youth All-American

Dylan has attended offense-defense camp for the past 3 summers.  The past two years he was awarded for his strong skills at the camps.  In 2010, Dylan was awarded Defensive MVP, and this year he was awarded for being the Best QB in the camp, which is the highest award for the camp because this player also receives the Peyton Manning Gatorade Award.

Last year Dylan traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC for the Youth All-American Bowl.  This was Dylan's first game of contact football in his entire life.  He ended up playing Defensive Tackle, and had 2 tackles in his game.  Dylan had a great experience, and found out that he can play with some of the best youth football players in the nation.

Dylan's confidence level shot up due to that experience, and carried over into all the sports he played after.  In wrestling he was 16-1.  In baseball he led his team at pitcher, and was the best hitter.  In his first year of Little Grizzly football he played QB, RB, and MLB.  He led his team in tackles with 56, and was awarded Defensive MVP for the team.  Dylan is an extremely hard runner when he has the ball, and he really enjoys running people over.  He is not a juker that is for sure.

This year Dylan will travel to Dallas, TX to play in the Youth All-American Bowl, which will be held in Dallas Cowboy Stadium.  This will be a huge experience for Dylan!  Dylan now has some game experience under his belt, so it will be interesting to see how well he competes against the best.

We are starting our fundraising effort to get Dylan to Dallas.  Big D is going to the Big D!  We have many options for people to support him-from braided bread to bunco.  We are so thankful for all the support Dylan has received that has allowed him to get better at a sport that he loves.  This experience in Dallas will be huge for his future success, and anyway that you help you can be assured that you are helping a boy reach his dream.

Thanks for your support!  Follow this blog to keep up to date on our fundraising progress, and Dylan's experience in Dallas.
